After picking up a crucial victory over Goran Reljic at UFC 116, Kendall Grove (12-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is now slated to fight former middleweight title challenger Demian Maia (13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale.Grove announced the fight via his Twitter account. As MMAjunkie.com first reported, The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale takes place Dec. 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The event, which concludes the soon-to-debut 12th season of the UFC's reality series, airs on Spike TV. Grove vs. Maia is likely to be part of the televised main card.Grove, a cast member on "TUF 3," cost himself a televised spot on Spike TV's "UFC Prelims" special and angered UFC and Spike TV officials prior to the UFC 116 bout. In an interview with TapouT Radio, Grove criticized the reality show's producers and some of the antics that have taken place in recent seasons in an effort, he said, to boost ratings. With his fight demoted to the un-aired preliminary card, Grove nevertheless earned a hard-fought split-decision win over a tough Reljic. The victory helped him avoid back-to-back losses and marked his fourth win in his past six fights. He now could find himself back in prime title contention with a victory over Maia, who recently rebounded from a title loss to champ Anderson Silva with a unanimous-decision win over fellow submission ace Mario Miranda. Aside from an earlier defeat to fellow contender Nate Marqaurdt, Maia remains undefeated in professional competition, which includes UFC victories over the likes of Dan Miller, Chael Sonnen and Nate Quarry. As MMAjunkie.com recently reported, the TUF 12 Finale also features light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar (12-7 MMA, 6-6 UFC) vs. Igor Pokrajac (22-7 MMA, 1-2 UFC).
